Even if Bartimaeus was blind, he must heard about David and expected a Messiah from his generation. Here, this blind man heard about Jesus. He also heard about the mighty things he was performing. This blind man believed that this is the Messiah, he is expecting. Hence he is calling Jesus ``the Son of David``. Even if he rebuked by others, he cried out much more for getting mercy from Jesus.
